So please do not use extensions that you may want to use in a straight look. For this look you will need the following:

  • Old hair extensions
  • Back combing brush
  • Hair net
  • Bobby pins if you have all your equipment, let’s begin with the how to of the Hair Rat.

 Step 1

Lay your extension flat on a table and carefully segment the hair into inch pieces

Step 2

Take your back-combing brush and back comb each section. You will be left with a back combed mass of hair.

Step 3

Manipulate the mass of hair into an oval shape

Step 4

Lastly put your manipulated mass into the hair net, and this is your hair rat. You may wish to add some bobby pins to the net so it’s easier to attach to your head. To use the Hair Rat, simply section your hair pulling a section forward to expose the crown. Clip the hair rat into place and pull your own hair back over the hair rat. Style as necessary.
